With over 175 stores from coast to coast, Best Buy Canada is one of Canada’s largest and fastest-growing consumer electronics retailers. The company offers the latest in electronics, entertainment, home appliances, personal computers, software and more, as well as computer support for a wide range of consumer and corporate markets.

CHALLENGE:

Best Buy required accurate and comprehensive product data from its manufacturers in order to present detailed product information to its shoppers. This would achieve the goal of allowing customers to make more informed purchasing decisions. Unfortunately for many retailers, manufacturers do not always provide accurate or complete product data and verifying provided data can be time-consuming and challenging. A lack of detailed product information leads to fewer customers who are able to find the products they are looking for, and even fewer purchases.

Our team was tasked with conducting extensive product research in order to get accurate, standardized content for attributes for select products across domains from Best Buy’s eCommerce catalogue. The outcome was robust product data that Best Buy customers could rely on to make a knowledgeable buying decision. This also enabled customers to perform easier product comparisons across BestBuy.ca.
